If you’re wondering why your newly created Facebook Fan Page does not have a Discussions Board, I’ve recorded a video showing how you can install it on your existing Fan Page:
Update: Discussions Board is already being phased out. It will be replaced by another app called Forum for pages. Instead of searching for Discussions Board app, click the link above and you will go straight to the new app. Same way of installing as shown on the video.

Update: Facebook Discussion Boards will actually go away by the end of October. Not sure if it’s just the install app that will no longer be listed and those that have installed it will actually get to still use it or the whole thing will be gone. Will post another update soon.
The Discussions Board app is being phased out and will just be removed once the phase out period is over. I have updated the post to include the link to the Forum app that replaces the Discussions Board app.
Too bad discussion boards will go away by the end of October, they were a really great way of bringing traffic to your website. Really nice method to bring traffic and raise the activity. Nice video, easy to understand and easy to install!

Amit, I have updated the post to include the link to the new Forum App that is to replace the Discussions Board which is currently being phased out.
Discussion board is very important to keep fans connected not only to the business but also to other fans with the same interest like them. All Facebook fan page users must always remember that maintaining a fan page active is a difficult thing to do, but with the help of other fans, you could make life a far more easier than before.
Great tutorials! Indeed, Facebook offers lots of useful features to help users in handling their fan pages. We all know that it is necessary to be aware how to work on this kind of social networking sites because of its demand.

Already already being phased out? But isn’t this relatively new? Or did they just change the name from Discussions Board to Forum for pages and added some glitter?

No, I’ve been using Discussions Board for a long time before. Forum For Pages is a better app
I would like to ask something and I feel that you’re the right person for this. I would like to know if Facebook discussion boards can be an effective way in building positive personal branding as well as promoting products and services. I will deeply appreciate it if you can help me with this.

Used properly, it could be a very good channel to promote your products and services and build your brand. You must remember though, that this must be used to build relationships and interact with your members. If you provide value to your members, promoting your products and services from time to time – NOT ALWAYS can be justified as long as its related to what is being discussed / talked about.
You have a good point and that is worth considering. I will consider all those things that you said and put it into work. It would surely be a nice idea if I will follow your advice.

So this is already done for? No wonder i couldn’t find it. At least they didn’t change much, and the tutorial still works for Forum for pages.

Hey! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this site? I’m getting fed up of WordPress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m looking at options for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

I do not use a forum on mine, but I think it might be a nice addition, especially for website questions. I have even pondered opening up a forum on my actual website as well. However, I know most of the questions would be support requests from my php scripts…lol.
I use to try the FB old discussion forums for some social game apps a couple years ago. Some people would form groups and engage with each other, outside of just playing a game.

Facebook is a forum itself instead of being a social networking sites so we can say it is a private forum, your profile works same way as a forum works the difference is you can discuss with your friends only but in forum anyone can posts who are user of Facebook.
Great tips! I didn’t realise that facebook had this forum app. It looks like a great way to connect with my readers and increase our exposure. Thanks for the intro!
